Aquavit blends raw latin, blues, pop and jazz energy from Nordic soul to Slavic heart and with Latin passion. From small pubs and micro ale bars up to festival stages and concert halls, we’ve rocked and swayed crowds with our eclectic sound. We speak German fluently but are based in GB. However we are sometimes in Bodensee and CH/DE area. Band webpage

biography
Charlotte Foster (Vocalist)
Charlotte hails from Denmark close to Copenhagen but has studied, worked and lived in Germany and England. She has always had an interest in singing and has been a member of several choirs over her career in management. A chance meeting a couple of years ago with Alan Hess, who speaks a little Swedish understandable to a Dane, cemented the new project of band Aquavit.
Alan Hess (e-Accordion)
Alan Hess has a Polish roots but is English born. His
Polish father encouraged him to play accordion for events at his Polish club as a child and teenager and so Tangos, Latin, Gypsy Jazz, Kletzmer etc formed much of his early experience. Alan looks back on having founded a successful and continuing teaching project in Switzerland which helps special needs children through music as therapy. Since retiring from teaching, Alan has returned to the UK but remains fully active with Aquavit gigs and other international musical adventures. Both Charlotte and Alan are 100% fluent in German.
Although the band is GB based, we are often in Bodensee and DE Schweiz areas.
