Our music begins in intimacy, grows with cinematic energy, and rises into transcendence. This is not background music. This is an experience — immediate, immersive, and deeply human.
Formed in Basel by musicians from the Hochschule für Musik Basel and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Quintessence brings a modern, refined voice to classical performance. Our sound is close, warm, and alive. In our
concerts, you feel the breath between phrases, the tension before a crescendo, the silence that becomes part of the music. Every moment pulls you inward.
And then it expands.
From intimate duos to the full Schubert Octet, from Dvo?ák to Piazzolla and contemporary works, Quintessence transforms spaces, turning rooms into resonant worlds and creating moments people remember long after the last note fades.
