Pipifax enstand vor etwa zehn Jahren als Duo mit Gitarre und Saxofon.
Die Absicht war eine Kleinstformation für intime Anlässe.
So ergaben sich vielfältige Auftritte an Apéros, Vernissagen, Firmenanlässen sowie an
privaten Festen.
Die Erweiterung zuerst auf ein Trio und nun auf ein Quartett mit E-Bass und minimalem
Schlagwerk eröffnete mehr musikalischen Spielraum und Möglichkeiten für etwas grössere
Auftrittsorte. Die Gruppe ist nun nicht mehr so minimal, dafür um
einiges grooviger.
Das Repertoir von Pipifax besteht aus Eigenkompositionen und weniger bekannten
Standards und bewegt sich zwischen Jazz, Gipsy-Swing, Blues und Funk.
