The Black Coffee Acoustic Trio was born from an idea of the singer (Samantha Giordano) who was willing to have a try at singing the soul music, creating a band that could play a lot in the beautiful city of Venice. The guitarist Omawumi Fischer accepted her proposal. Giorgio Marinaro (at the beginning) and Manuele Maestri (currently) joined the duo with their basses.
The trio was born in September 2013 and had the chance to play around Venice twice or three times every week, performing also at the Hard Rock Cafè of the city.
The repertoir is made up of soul, pop and R&B covers: it counts some classicals such as “Chain Of Fools”, “Hit The Road Jack” and “Smooth Operator”; some hits like “If I Ain't Got You” by Alicia Keys, “Rehab” by Amy Winehouse and “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. Moreover it includes songs by new artists like Lorde, Selah Sue, Zaz, London Gramar, Jehro, etc.
Each song takes a brand new shape under the original arrangements of the trio, that engross the audience with its groove and more intimate interpretarions.
The band itself can also change shape for specific gigs, becoming a quartet by playing with the drummer Giuliano Rinaldo.
Having a malleable repertoir and a variable line-up makes the trio suitable for mixed situations and audiences.
