La band nasce nel 2009 dall’idea di formare una soul band per concerti nei locali ticinesi..... Solitamente il genere richiede l’intervento di molti musicisti, come ad esempio una sezione di fiati, quindi le esibizioni live devono avvenire forzatamente su palchi di grosse dimensioni..... Il punto di forza dei Route 66 è la formazione ridotta a quattro elementi, che unisce il feeling della musica soul, con l’approccio tipicamente rock di una line-up di questo tipo..... I Route 66 propongono un
repertorio soul e blues dai primi anni 60 alla fine degli anni 70, con tributi ai giganti del genere quali Wilson Picket, Otis Redding e Sam & Dave.....
