Alphorn goes international! Wenn die drei Damen aus Kanada, Japan und Wales ins Alphorn blasen, erfreuen sie jedes Publikum mit ihren erfrischenden Interpretationen traditioneller Schweizer Musik. Aus dem zufälligen Aufeinandertreffen der drei an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste wurde rasch ein professionelles Alphorntrio, das regelmässig im ganzen Land auftritt und auch Ihre Gäste mit traditionellen und jazzigen Klängen verwöhnen wird.

Profimusikerinnen
Die Waliserin Annette Cox hat ihre Liebe zur Hornmusik im zarten Kindesalter entdeckt. In ihrer Jugend spielte sie bereits das Solohorn im walisischen Jugendnationalorchester. Sie hat in verschiedenen Orchestern in Grossbritannien und während ihres Studiums in Zürich im dortigen Opernorchester gespielt. Ausserdem durfte Annette kürzlich das Solohorn an der bulgarischen Staatsoper spielen.
Die von der winzigen Insel Takashima stammende Japanerin Yui Yukutake begann früh mit dem Spielen des Waldhorns und hat in Tokio an der Hochschule für Musik studiert. 2014 kam sie nach Zürich, um an der Hochschule der Künste weiterzustudieren und lernte dort das Alphorn kennen. Sie spielte in Orchestern und hat in einigen Kammerspiel-Ensembles mitgewirkt. In Japan hatte Yui zahlreiche Auftritte als Solistin.
Die in Toronto geborene Kanadierin Carlie Bigelow fing im Alter von elf Jahren an, das Horn zu spielen. Sie studierte Musik in Toronto und hatte dort das Privileg, mit «Canadian Brass» zu spielen. Ausserdem war sie Mitglied der «Royal Regiment of Canada Military Band». In Zürich studierte Carlie Orchestermusik. Zurzeit spielt sie das Solohorn an der Staatsoper von Stara Zagora in Bulgarien.

The entertainment was great and highly appreciated by our invitees. The only thing we could give as improvement points is that we have been asked to pick up the musicians at the bus stop before the event (for us, it was clear that the transportation of the musicians, as well as their instruments was part of the price we paid for the gig). Additionnally, it was a pity that the musicians were holding their phones in front of their faces during the whole concert. We understood it was for the notes and they needed it to play the songs. It just did not look great on the pictures but other than that everything was perfect. We look forward to a next gig.
